EndedCroft Pottery

Service Description

Come and join potter and ceramic artist Joseph Ludkin for a one off, free Kurinuki class. Joseph will be running a two hour session on carving objects such as Yunomi cups and lidded boxes from clay in the traditional Japanese way as part of our open studios program of events. Event time: 2:00pm - 4:00pm Kurinuki means ‘To Hollow’ and is the traditional Japanese technique of carving objects such as cups, bowls, vases, and boxes etc. from a block of clay. Kurinuki techniques are fantastic for creating unique forms and rugged, tactile surface textures. On this course potter Joseph Ludkin will introduce you to the wonderfully meditative process of using Kurinuki techniques to make objects. We will fire and glaze your pots for you so that you can pick these up at a later date
