Service Description

Andrew Pentland is a well-respected Home/Domestic ware Potter and kiln builder from the North East of England. Andrew exhibits his work regularly at the prestigious Potfest and CPA shows as well as at festivals such as Wardlow mires, ‘Pots for food’. Andrews work reflects his love of clay, glazing and reduction firing with wood and gas. His work is designed to please the eye visually and enable further visual intrigue when put into domestic use. Andrew will be running a one day Masterclass at Croft pottery focusing on throwing forms for domestic use. Course details The course will include; • Potters talk on his work and processes • Throwing demonstrations of various domestic ware forms • Intensive throwing sessions for students with Individual tuition and guidance. Cost: £125 Taught by Guest Potter Andrew Pentland Saturday 25th October from 10:30am to 16:30pm (including 1hr lunch break 1:00 – 2:00pm) General Class Information… This class will run from 10:30 – 16:30 on Saturday 25th October re will be a maximum of 8 people attending this class. Each person has their own dedicated potters wheel. Price includes throwing tuition and all materials. Please note that this is a throwing workshop only, Pots thrown in the workshop will need to be trimmed, glazed and fired by the attendee in their own time. You are able to keep up to 6 pots per person. The Masterclass program is not suitable for beginners, the class is intended for potters that are around an intermediate level or above and ideally those that are able to throw different forms. This course is ideal for Clay Club members or anyone that practices throwing regularly.
