Service Description

A Pottery course ideal for those wanting to learn the basics of Raku pottery. Some prior making experience (throwing or hand building) is essential. *Please note that although help will always be given when making your work for the Raku kiln, this is not a throwing tuition course. Duration: 4 weeks When: Monday evenings 18:00 – 20:00 Dates: 26th June - July 17th Course overview: A new course for anyone interested in exploring making, glazing and firing work in a Raku kiln. You will make pots or other objects in weeks 1 and 2 using special Raku clay, this will be done on the wheel or through hand building depending on the students experience/preference. Students will then decorate/glaze and fire work in weeks three and four in our Raku Kiln. You will be able to explore glazing, working with feathers, horse hair and other combustible materials to create visual effects on your pots during firing. Cost: £155 Included in cost: all tuition, materials, you will be able to fire a minimum of 2 pots/objects maybe more depending on time. tea, coffee, refreshments etc..
